How to make a Margarita

Refreshing, moreish and packing a punch, it’s little wonder why the Margarita is the go-to drink for many. It’s familiar yet comes in enough variations to keep things interesting, and can be simple or complex depending on how far you want to take the recipe. Here, we offer an easy, flexible way to make it at home.

  • 60ml tequila
  • 30ml fresh lime juice
  • 15ml Cointreau (or other orange liquors)
  • Garnish: Spent lime wheel
  • Optional: Salt for rimming (we prefer plum powder)

  1. Fill shaker with ice and add in the tequila, lime juice and Cointreau then shake
  2. Optional: Rub lime wheel on lip of rocks glass and rim with salt (or plum powder for something salty-sweet)
  3. Strain mixture into rocks glass filled with ice, then garnish with lime wheel

Yields 1 glass
