Probably the most enjoyed cognac-based sour drink out there, the Sidecar has amassed a discerning fan base thanks to its fine balance of brandy aromas and a moreish, citrusy tang. Getting the proportions right is key, as one of the key ingredients, fresh lemon juice, can easily over sour the drink. But follow this recipe below (make personal adjustments if you must) and you’ll be on your way to enjoying a longtime classic.

- 30ml Cointreau
- 20ml fresh lemon juice
- Optional: Fine white sugar for rimming
