How to make a New York Sour

Featuring a prominent red wine float on the top, the New York Sour is one cocktail with just the right amount of fancy and accessibility, allowing you to impress guests while creating a drink most anyone will enjoy. Try it and have a taste of the Big Apple right at home.


  • 60ml whisky
  • 30ml fresh lemon juice
  • 30ml simple syrup
  • 15ml red wine


  1. Fill shaker with ice, add in whisky, lemon juice and simple syrup, then shake
  2. Strain mixture into rocks glass filled with fresh ice
  3. Float red wine on the top of the cocktail and serve (here’s how you float a drink)
