How to make a Paloma

The refreshingly delicious Paloma is a favorite in Mexico, and for good reason. It’s a beautiful union of grapefruit and tequila flavors, and many actually prefer the Paloma to the more well-known Margarita when looking for a tequila-based cocktail. We know we do. Here’s how to make a classic Paloma, with a few added suggestions if you’re looking to change things up with fresh ingredients.

  • 60ml tequila
  • 15ml fresh lime juice
  • 120ml Jarritos grapefruit soda (or use 80ml fresh grapefruit juice, 30ml soda and 20ml simple syrup)
  • Garnish: Salt and grapefruit wedge

  1. Rim tall glass with salt
  2. Fill shaker with ice, add in all ingredients except sodas, and shake
  3. Strain mixture into tall glass filled with ice
  4. Top up glass with soda, garnish with grapefruit wedge and serve
